Well after the bedroom or en-suite extension in 2014, we decided to do a single storey 10x5 rear extension and opening up the rear of the house. If you have read my previous “build one” review on Crown, you’ll know we were nervous about going with the lowest quote. Well on this occasion we didn’t even get another quote.
This build was bigger than previous, but still went up very quickly, even catching out other trades, such as the kitchen company who pushed our order believing it wouldn’t be ready. Again we got great suggestions from Guy, which have resulted in the space being so much better, accommodating lots of changes by myself along the way, and taking them in his stride. Guy is very client focused, even when I was being a pain of a client. At the end of the build, we had an extra £3,000 to pay, and considering that covered some underpinning and lots of extras from me, we were very pleased. Biggest compliment I can pay is we used them again.

We employed Crown Construction in 2014 to build an extra bedroom and en suite above our kitchen. We had three quotes of which they were the cheapest, which if honest made me nervous. I’m glad to say without reason.
The build itself was professional and speedy. They turned up rain or shine, and they only run one job at a time, so the focus remained on completing our project. They were brilliant with my 2 and 4 year old who just loved to get involved and ask questions. Guy was very helpful at helping us think about the stages to come and ensure we were ready when final details were needed, like placement of lights and sockets, and timing for ordering bathroom furniture. Guy also helped us maximise the space by making additional suggestions, which we took up. I have to say one of the biggest plus points is that when the final bill came in, it was only £300 more than the quote! And that was due to an extra request I had made.

We chose Crown Construction to build our loft conversion in the middle of 2017. From the very outset, we connected with Mr Lines (Guy as we came to call him). The very first visit left us feeling so comfortable. His considerate way of letting us tell him what we wanted and then his advice on directing us to the best options were great. The quotation was very reasonable compared to some of the others we had. Nothing was ever too much trouble, even when we had to put things on hold for a week due to a family problem. When finished, the loft room was absolutely fantastic. We are due to move into our new home shortly and have already spoken to Guy regarding an extension.
